What an amazing week at the RR Donnelley Founders Cup for Girls Golf! Members, Aaryanna Morris and Halie Carpenter kicked off the event representing LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Phoenix at media day and a press conference alongside professional golfer Vicki Hurst. Twelve of our members were lucky club runners in the Pro-Am and had the opportunity to play with the top ladies on tour! We had “tee greeters” and “flag girls” on Sunday during play…an inside the ropes experience greeting the players on the tee and holding the flagstick on holes 16, 17 and 18. Surely, an experience these girls will not soon forget! In addition, 90 girls come out for the scavenger hunt and LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Extravaganza Clinic taught by local and touring LPGA professionals.
All of the girls present for the finale, were able to walk inside the ropes with Stacy Lewis on the 18th hole and had front row seating right next to the green!
If anyone saw the Golf Channel coverage on Friday, 10 year old, new LPGA-USGA Girls Golf member Kyla Wilde was featured in the Golf Channel booth
http://www.lpga.com/media-library/videos/2013/tournaments/rr-donnelley/kyla-wilde.aspx
Finally, as you can see below after a beautiful weekend on the golf course and an incredible victory for Stacy Lewis, three of our girls received the check with Commissioner Whan for the $500,000 that was donated to Girls Golf from RR Donnelley! In addition, Stacy Lewis donated $50,000!

Our program is so lucky to be connected to a tour that has such engaging athletes who really want to leave the game better than when they arrived! Please send a thank you note to RR Donnelley for their generous contribution. It is amazing what a hand written note from our members can do. We would love to have this tournament again at Wildfire Golf Resort!
