The LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Phoenix program is a developmental junior golf program designed for girls ages 3-18. It was formed specifically to create a network for girls to learn to play golf, build friendships and compete in a non-threatening environment.

The program meets year-round with weekly events in the summer and monthly events during the school year. The tournament formats include scramble, best-ball, team outings, parent/daughter and evening glow ball events. The variety of formats allow the emphasis to be placed on having fun and encourage family involvement.

Girls must be members of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf to participate in the events and enter the program at one of eight divisions dependant upon current skill level. The following descriptions are designed to help with placement upon entering the program.

  • Itty Bitty Division - Must be 3 years old to participate and play 1 hole from 100 yards from the green. All players must have a caddy.
  • Caddy Division – Must be at least 5 to participate and play 3 holes from 150 yards from the green. All players must have a caddy.
  • Floral 1 Division – 3 holes from 150 yards on par 4's, 200 yards on par 5's and average 3-7 strokes per hole
  • Floral 2 Division – 6 holes from 175 yards on par 4's, 225 yards on par 5's and average 3-7 strokes per hole
  • Checkered 1 Division – 9 holes from 200 yards on par 4's, 250 yards on par 5's and average 3-7 strokes per hole
  • Checkered 2 Division – 9 holes from forward tees ranging from 2400 - 2800 yards
  • Solid Division – 18 holes from 5,000 – 5,600 yards on a regulation course.  Must score an average of 110 or better.
  • Solid Championship Division – 18 holes ranging from 5,600 – 6,000 yards. Must score an average of 95 or better.

With supplemental funding, fees are kept to a minimum ($15 - $25 per event). Financial assistance is available for all LPGA-USGA Girls Golf programs. Please contact the JGAA/LPGA-USGA Girls Golf office for more information.
